Would you like to go back to the Welcome, Olympia Pagans & Friends page or to the Upcoming Events page?
We hope that this site becomes a community resource for people in the Olympia and surrounding area to find pagan events. As such we are likely to post information for events that we ourselves have organized and also for other events by people we know, or events by people we do not know. We hope to be clear about the difference between these categories by using graphics.
Currently, anything other than an event sponsored by Olypagans will probably only appear on the welcome page, in the “What’s New?” section.
These are currently the categories of events we use on this site.
Various icons represent events sponsored by Olypagans. An example of a flyer thumbnail for our 2006 Samhain is shown here. Generally, these will be a fundraiser, a donation-requested public ritual, or a planning meeting. Usually, these will be thumbnails of the event flyer and will link to a sub-page on this site and will be an event for which we send out e-mail to our contact list.
These will almost always be events that are grounded on the Reclaiming Principles of Unity and offered for free or with a donation requested (but people will not be turned away for lack of funds, if possible). These will be clean and sober events. We will try to be as clear as possible about whether the event is suitable of children, and making a distinction between child friendly and child focused ritual.
You should, of course, always decide for yourself whether you want to attend an event, but there will definitely be at least a few Olypagans at one of these.
“Olypagans Recommends” is an icon that means the event is not sponsored by or organized by Olypagans. However,it’s organized by people or groups that we know or with which we have familiarity.
You should still keep your wits about you, but for some reason or another someone here feels comfortable recommending these events for others. We may know someone that’s involved, or ourselves be involved, in the event, but that’s not necessarily the case.
This icon represents an event that we’ve heard about and thought sounded interesting. We may know very little about this event, the organizers or content. We merely heard about it and for some reason we think it’s interesting enough to tell you about.
You should definitely keep your wits about you, as we likely know nothing more than what we’ve mentioned about this event, but the event seemed interesting enough to mention. We probably heard about this via e-mail or some flyer about town.
